The student spends the morning by studying general Spanish with other students of their same Spanish level,
in order to improve their communication skills. These small group classes begin at 8:50 am and end at 11:55 am.
In the afternoon, the student begins private instruction with a native speaker Spanish teacher with a background in law. This private class is tailored to the student's requirements and will include vocabulary and dialog specific to law and legal situations. Important cultural aspects in the relations between the client and attorney may also be addressed. Students may role-play, review legal documents, and focus on anything they personally need to enhance their effectiveness with their Spanish-speaking clients. The private portion of this course is 12:20 to 1:50 pm. (summer month students may be required to begin this session at 2:00 pm.)
Rates include both the group and private lessons.
This is a fully customizable one-on-one program suitable for beginning or advanced students.

Students of this course may participate in the “Bilingual Exchange Program”, a conversation workshop offering a unique experience to meet a Mexican counterpart. You will practice Spanish legal terms, while they practice English terms, as well as discuss different cultural aspects relating to the field of law. Visits to the local court house and other institutions may also be arranged.
PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended that students have at least a basic knowledge of Spanish before beginning the Spanish for Social Workers program.
